Tassel slip-ons
(Made to order)
Shoes made with tomorka.
"Tomorka" is a shoe brand with an atelier in Wakayama.
We create shoes and leather items with "everyday life, travel, and relaxation" in mind.
This is a special order from MUYA, and we have prepared a pair of shoes that we would want to wear every day.
We started making original shoes from the desire to have shoes that can be worn both casually and formally. Each pair is made by hand.
These shoes are attractive with their sleek form and dignified, quiet appearance.
It has a small decoration, a tassel.
The leather used for the upper is vegetable tanned leather that has been dyed.
Just like solid wood, leather is characterized by the process of "aging" or "changes over time," which means that the more you use it, the darker the color becomes, the more lustrous it becomes, and in the case of leather, it becomes softer.
It is generally called "Nume leather."
The inner pigskin is soft, resistant to friction, and breathable, making the shoes more comfortable to wear. The insole is made of vegetable-tanned cowhide leather, making it extremely comfortable to wear.
In addition, the core material located between the outer and inner leather of the upper is made of leather so that it can conform to the shape of the wearer's foot.
The sole on the back is made with a Vibram sole from Italy, which offers excellent grip and durability.
The upper color is black.
Choose from two sole colors: black and natural.
Sizes are available in 0.5cm increments from 23cm to 27cm.
It is also recommended that couples purchase the same item together.
Details
Material
Upper: Vegetable tanned cowhide (surface) / pigskin (lining)
Insole: Vegetable tanned cowhide leather Outsole: Leather sole (cemented method: a method in which the sole is glued together)
Heel: Leather heel/Rubber Core (located between the upper outer leather and inner leather): Leather Midsole (located under the insole): Leather (approximately 4mm thick)
・Cork: Cushioning material between the insole and the sole.
- Shank: An iron plate is placed between the insole and the cork.
Attention
Regarding sizes (cm), leather shoe lasts are designed to have a few centimetres of extra space at the toes, called the "waste allowance".
In the case of leather shoes, if the size is a perfect fit for the toes, the core material will press hard against the toes when walking, and the shape will look like it is made to fit the toes, so we believe that the reason there is a waste allowance is because of this.
Therefore, the size number indicates the length of the wearer's foot, not the length of the shoe itself. (23.5cm is the size for a person with a foot length of 23.5cm.)
Also, regarding women's and men's lasts, due to differences in the average bone structure and shape of men and women, men's lasts are made slightly larger overall even when they have the same size label.
For these reasons, when a male customer with a 24.5cm foot tries on this 24.5cm size, or when a female customer tries on a men's last, they may find it to be too small or too large.
Leather has the characteristic of becoming soft and deformed when it absorbs moisture and water, and when it dries in that deformed state, it will retain its shape. Therefore, each part made of leather will deform and take on a shape depending on the moisture and environment of the wearer's feet.
The upper stretches and conforms to the shape of your foot, and the core material in the heel area also conforms to the shape of your heel.
The more you wear the insole and cork, the more the center of gravity shifts and the more it conforms to the shape of your foot.
(This is an image of memory foam material sinking into the shape of your hand when you press it.)
The outsole conforms to the sole of the foot as the center of gravity is placed on it, and it flexes when walking, improving arching and supporting ease of walking.
These changes are what we call "the shoe becoming accustomed to your feet," and it's like the entire material enveloping the wearer's feet.
These changes are the reason why it is said that "leather shoes become more comfortable the more you wear them."
In addition, the upper stretches and conforms to the shape of your foot, and the insole and cork sink, creating a slight amount of room inside the shoe.
When you first start wearing shoes and take care of them, if you continue wearing them for a long time without first breaking them in, your feet will be under stress and will sweat more easily, and the upper and inner layer will come into contact with the softened skin, making you more likely to develop blisters. For this reason, we recommend that you start by wearing them when you go shopping in the neighborhood, and gradually increase the amount of time you wear them while they are broken in.
Also, spraying waterproof spray on your shoes before you start wearing them will help prevent them from getting dirty with dust and other debris in addition to rain.
The basic care involves using a brush to remove dust and other dirt, then using a cleaner to remove any accumulated dirt, then using black shoe cream to add color, nutrients and shine, and finally spraying on waterproof spray.
Delivery time is approximately 2 months from the date of order.
Each item is made by hand, so production lead times may vary.
