Thoughts on clothing
MUYA was established in January 2014.
He started his own brand in his parents' warehouse, using his surname as the name.
I started making clothes so that I wouldn't lie to myself.
We started with just one type of shirt.
Shirahama Town in Wakayama Prefecture, where we are based, is a town surrounded by the sea and mountains, and is rich in nature.
Currently, the small, old building is used by a couple and a few staff members to run a complex that includes a coffee shop, clothing store, and accommodation.
Nine years have passed since I became independent, and many things have changed little by little.
I continue to make clothes, regardless.
What is important to you when making clothes?
"It's like water that doesn't belong to anything.
It changes its appearance and expression depending on the style of the wearer.”
Based on the concept,
It's about being simple, concise and ordinary.
When making clothes, many words come up such as material, sewing, comfort, and fashion.
I don't really care about any one thing.
It is not possible to perfectly express silhouettes and other aspects for each individual, so
Rather than saying "This is good," it feels more natural to say, "This is good enough."
Unlike apparel manufacturers, we don't make products for each season.
We don't have sales on anything we sell ourselves.
It's unisex, anonymous, and brand-unknown.
Rather than designing clothes, I feel like I'm looking at materials and translating them into shapes that will fit in well.
I don't think it's good to have clothes that catch your eye at first glance or that the material is at its best when new.
In that sense, the material and shape will naturally blend in with each wash,
A large part of it is left to the recipient's interpretation, and the finished product is created when they wear it.
I would like it to be something ordinary and everyday, something that is not consciously recognized as part of human activities or the scenery that exists there.
I want people to feel free to wear clothes, not just MUYA clothes.
There are no categories such as men's or women's.
I hope you can choose the size you like.
As the days go by,
I place the utmost importance on the core of my feelings, which cannot be expressed in numbers or words.
I want to continue making things.

Thoughts about clothing
MUYA began making clothes in January 2014 in a warehouse at the family home,
using own surname as the brand name and trying not to lie to themselves.
MUYA started with a single model shirt.
The Shirahama Town in Wakayama Prefecture,
where we are working, is a town rich in nature, surrounded by the sea and mountains.
We are running a coffee shop, clothing store, and lodging complex
in a small old building as a couple and a few staff members.
Nine years have passed since we started working independently,
and many things have changed little by little, but we have continued to make clothes.
What we value in making clothes is the concept of
"Quiet like a water. It takes shape and expression with its environment. "
and being simple, concise, and ordinary.
When making clothes, words like material, sewing, comfort, and trends come up a lot,
but I don't place a strong emphasis on any of these.
When it comes to silhouettes, it is impossible to express them perfectly for each individual,
so it feels more natural to say
"this is good enough" rather than "this is the perfect".
Unlike the typical apparel makers, we do not engage in seasonal production,
nor do we hold sales for the items we sell.
Our products are unisex, anonymous and brand nameless.
We see our work more as transforming materials into shapes that naturally blend in,
rather than designing clothes.
We do not favor eye-catching clothes or that are at their best as materials
when they are new. In that sense, we believe that the material
and shape will naturally blend in with the wearer over time
and that the final product is up to the interpretation of the wearer.
We hope our clothing remains ordinary and unnoticed in people's daily lives and surroundings.
Not only for MUYA's clothes but for all clothing, we want people to wear them freely,
Regardless of categories like men's or women's, just choosing sizes as they like.
While accumulating daily experiences day by day,
I wish to give utmost importance to the core of
my sensations that cannot be quantified by numbers or described by words,
and to continue the process of creation.
